See the Western Cape through our eyes…
A collection of places we genuinely love.
We live here. We drive these roads, eat in these restaurants, stay at these properties and keep finding places that make us think:
How do more people not know about this?
Our journeys bring those places together into routes that make sense.
Beautiful stays, small towns, wild coastlines, good wine, long lunches, fynbos, mountains, and enough time to actually enjoy them.

You could spend weeks planning South Africa and still end up visiting exactly the same places as everyone else.
There are hundreds of hotels, routes and things to do.
Some are brilliant. Some look much better online than they feel when you arrive.
We have already done a lot of that filtering for you.
The places we include are there for a reason:
an exceptional location, the owner, or the food, the view and a road that takes you somewhere you would never have thought to stop.
Many are places we have experienced ourselves, others come from people we know and trust locally.
Nothing is added “just because it appears on every South Africa itinerary”.

Handpicked, literally
Suzanne and Ludvig live in the Western Cape and own Villa Chad on the Whale Coast.
Suzanne spent almost two decades running a boutique travel company in South America and designing journeys for international travellers.
Now we use that experience here, in the country we chose to call home.
We know many of the properties, restaurants, wine estates and people behind the experiences we recommend.
And we keep exploring. If we find somewhere better … we swap it in.
Our journeys are designed and then refined with you.
We’ve already designed a small number of journeys that truly work with the right flow.
From there, we adjust selected elements based on your preferences, while keeping your journey balanced and seamless.
“Their presence made all the difference.”
From the first call, Suzanne and Ludvig really listened. They took their time to understand what we were really looking for, and our trip was just unforgettable. The whole process felt personal and thoughtful, and it showed in every part of the journey. And it was lovely to meet them in person in Villa Chad, which was our first stop on our honeymoon.

Why these places?
Because we would go back ourselves.
We look for places with character: a beautiful setting, good food, owners who care about what they’ve created.
Some place are a bit more fancy, others a bit more simple but equally wonderful.
You might find yourself drinking wine with the owner, or taking a road you hadn’t planned because someone local told you to.
That’s the way we like to travel, and these are the places we put into our journeys.
“You can feel that everything is hand-picked.”
Every place we stayed felt right. Nothing felt random or overly touristic and there was a good variation in different types of accommodation and experiences. We could really tell Suzanne and Ludvig had personally selected each location and activity to create variety. This made a huge difference to the overall experience and it didn’t feel rushed at all. Yet we have the feeling we really saw all we had to see.

What we take care of
This is still your journey. You drive, stop when you want to and have the freedom to explore along the way.
We just make the complicated part a lot easier. We take care of:
The route
A journey that makes geographical sense, without trying to squeeze too much into each day.
The places you stay
Independent hotels, guesthouses and lodges chosen for their location and the people behind them.
The key experiences
The things worth planning ahead: safari, wildlife, wine, food and the outdoors.
The details between the big moments
Where to eat, which road to take, where to stop, and what’s worth your time.
The bookings
We organise the accommodation and the key elements of your journey, so you don’t have to manage dozens of separate reservations yourself.
And us, when you need us
You travel independently, but you’re never without a local contact. We’re here before your trip and reachable while you’re travelling if you need us.
The result is a journey that feels independent, without having to build the whole thing from scratch.
P.S. We only take on a limited number of trips each month…
“We were welcomed like friends, not guests.”
One of the highlights was arriving at a safari lodge where we were personally greeted by the owner; a friend of Suzanne and Ludvig. The place itself was incredible and really exceeded our expectations. We felt incredibly welcome everywhere we went and we just loved the small towns we visited. We probably would have not found them ourselves but they were definitely worthwhile!
